Bulgaria's July business sentiment index rose by 1.1 percentage points from the previous month, after declining by 1.2 points in June, the National Statistics Institute (NSI) said.
In July, the industrial sub-index gained 1.9 percentage points on the month, due to managers' more optimistic expectations regarding the business situation over the next six months. Overall, they expect prices to increase in the next three months.
The sub-index in construction rose by 1.6 percentage points from June, as managers were more optimistic in their assessments about the present business situation. They expect the prices to preserve their level in the following three months.
The retail sub-index went up 1.4 percentage points on the month in July, due to the improved managers' assessments and expectations about the business situation. The uncertain economic situation remains the main problem for the retail business. Overall, managers expect prices to increase in the next three months.
The business climate gauge in the services sector lost 1.5 percentage points in July, due to the managers' more moderate assessments and expectations about the business situation in the sector. They expect prices to remain steady over the next three months.
