Bulgaria's BTC, Russia's Gazprom Space Systems Sign VSAT Partnership Deal

Bulgarian telecommunications group BTC said it has signed a partnership agreement with Russia-based satellite operator Gazprom Space Systems for the use of satellite capacity for Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) data connections and media services.
BTC and Gazprom Space Systems intend to further expand their partnership in order to build VSAT data networks and video distribution in different regions, BTC, which operates under the brand name Vivacom, said in a statement on Friday.
The uplink of the signal will be carried out by teleport Plana, owned by the Bulgarian company. In 2017, BTC received a full certification of Plana teleport by the World Teleport Association (WTA).
