Bulgaria's Avg Gross Montly Wage Rises 7.7% Y/Y In Q3

The average gross monthly wage in Bulgaria has increased by an annual 7.7% to 1,117 levs ($642.9/571.1 euro) in the third quarter of 2017, data from the National Statistics Institute (NSI) showed on Monday. On a quarterly comparison basis, the average gross monthly salary fell by 0.7% in the period July-September, NSI said in a statement. The highest wage, of 2,661 levs, was registered in the information and communication sector, followed by the finance and insurance sector with 1,815 levs. The lowest gross salary, of 707 levs, was recorded in the sector of accommodation and food services.In comparison with a year earlier, the average monthly wages in the public sector grew by 9.2% in the third quarter, while the private sector saw an increase of 7.3%.
