Bulgaria's avg gross monthly wage rises 11.8% y/y in Q3

The average gross monthly wage in Bulgaria increased by an annual 11.8% to 1,249 levs ($704/639 euro) in the third quarter of 2019, the National Statistics Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday.On a quarterly comparison basis, the average gross monthly wage decreased by 0.9% in the July-September period, NSI said in a statement.The highest average wage, of 2,661 levs, was registered in the information and communication sector, followed by the finance and insurance sector with 1,815 levs.The lowest gross wage, of 707 levs, was recorded in the sector of accommodation and food services.In comparison with a year earlier, the average monthly wages in the public sector grew by 10.5% in the third quarter, while in the private sector the wages increased by 12.2%.
