Bulgaria's annual consumer price inflation accelerated to 3.5% in July from 3.2% in June, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday. On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices added 0.7% in July, after rising by 0.1% in June, NSI said in its monthly inflation report. Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 31.34% in the consumer basket, increased 2.8% year-on-year in July. Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (18.23% weight) increased 4.9% on the year, while transport prices (8.76% weight) rose 9.5%.Bulgaria’s EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) rose 3.6% on the year in July and was 1.0% higher compared to June.
