Bulgaria's annual consumer price inflation slowed down to 2.0% in April from 2.2% in March, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices added 0.4% in April, after rising by 0.3% in March, NSI said in its monthly inflation report.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 31.3% in the consumer basket, added 1.2% year-on-year in April, while prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (18.22% weight) rose 3.8%.
Prices in the transport segment (8.8% weight) edged up 0.8% year-on-year in April.
Bulgaria’s EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) rose 1.7% on the year in April and was 0.3% higher compared to March.
