Bulgaria's advertising deteriorates in 2010

Bulgaria's advertising market shrank by 13.9% to BGN 329.18 million in 2010, Krassimir Gergov, chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Advertising Agencies, said on Wednesday.

The decline was larger than the projected drop of between 7% and 10%, but still smaller than the 27% contraction seen in 2009.

Advertising in print editions was the worst affected in the period, while online advertising was the sole segment to register growth, of five per cent, Gergov said.

Despite the negative results, the association anticipates an increase of 7% to 10% in advertisement sales in 2011. (Source: Dnevnik)
