Bulgaria’s 2013 Budget Gap Widens to 742 Mln Euro

Bulgaria's consolidated budget deficit in 2013 widened to 1.45 billion levs ($1.0 billion/742 million euro) from 350 million levs a year earlier, finance ministry figures showed.

The budget deficit is equivalent to 1.8% of the country's gross domestic product projected for 2013, the finance ministry said in a statement.

Revenue stood at 28.88 billion levs, and spending amounted to 29.49 billion levs. Contributions to the EU budget totaled 934 million levs.
