Bulgaria's 2012 Avg Jobless Rate Rises to 11.1%, Below Govt Target

The average jobless rate in Bulgaria last year stood at 11.1%, up by 1.0 percentage point from the average a year earlier and below the government's target of 11.5%, official data showed.

The average monthly number of unemployed totalled 364,537 in 2012, up by 9.6% from the previous year, the government's Employment Agency said in a statement.

Bulgaria's end-2012 jobless rate rose to 11.4% from 11.3% at the end of November and 10.4% at the end of 2011.

Bulgaria has a population of 7.33 million.
