Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia Plan Linking Telecommunications Networks in Border Regions

Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia on Thursday discussed technical aspects of a joint project to connect their telecommunications networks in the border regions.
The main objective of the three-side project proposed by Bulgaria’s Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications is to enable the public institutions in the three countries to use high-speed secure telecommunications channels to exchange information, the Bulgarian ministry announced on its website.
The meeting in Sofia has brought together representatives of the respective telecommunications ministries who presented the networks’ technical parameters and the possibilities of connecting them.
The three southeast European countries set up management and technical teams to implement the project in June.
