Wednesday, 26 October 2016
Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev opened the first in Europe global conference of the authoritative international network for equal access to education – Teach For all. The event takes place in the southwestern town of Blagoevgrad, Radio FOCUS reporter said.
The scientific forum gathered officials, such as Minister of Education and Science Meglena Kuneva, experts from 65 countries, and teachers.
During the official opening President Plevneliev said it was a great honour to open the first global conference themed Reimagining Education, which is held for the first time both in Bulgaria and in Europe as a whole.
“The event is highly important in the context of the challenges the world is faced with today and the lack of education for many children around the world, the high youth unemployment, which on the other hand is also suffering lack of qualified staff,” the Bulgarian Head of State remarked.
Mr Plevneliev thanked all participants in the forum and pointed out that he was very happy with the fact that Bulgaria hosted the first conference of this kind in Europe.
The organisers announced that the conference would be held in the form of workshops and dynamic discussions, as well as through sharing different good practices, presented personally by leading education experts, innovators, visionaries and entrepreneurs.
The conference will continue for three days – from October 25 until October 27, 2016.
