Bulgaria's labour ministry is working on a new measure for support to companies that were obliged to close down last month to limit the spread of Covid-19, labour minister Denitsa Sacheva said.
"We are ready to offer a new support measure to all businesses in the next two to three weeks," Sacheva said in a video file published by public TV station BNT over the weekend. The support measure envisages direct compensations of 24 levs ($14.3/12.3 euro) per day to employers and employees of closed companies for each day of non-operation.
The labour ministry is working jointly with the European Commission in order to implement the measure, Sacheva also said.
Last month, Sofia mayor Yordanka Fandakova said that night clubs in the Bulgarian capital must shut down for two weeks as of October 25 due to a surge in the number of new Covid-19 cases registered daily in the city.
