Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is on a working visit to the United States September 18 to 24, the government's information service announced.
In New York Borissov is to attend the sixty-fifth regular session of the United Nations General Assembly and the millennium development goals summit. He is accompanied by Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov.
Meanwhile Bulgaria's Minister of Economy and Energy Traycho Traykov is also on to the US after an official visit to Canada where he took part in the 21st World Energy Congress in Montreal.
Traykov is in the US state of Illinois through Saturday to meet local officials, business representatives, and the Bulgarian community in Chicago, which is the largest Bulgarian emigrant community in the world.
Minister Traykov will meet representatives of the Illinois Department of Trade, the Federal Bank, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
He will also meet the managers of Caterpillar, Deer and Co, ADM, Motorola and Boeing companies to discuss opportunities for trade and investments.
Minister Traykov will present the perspectives for development of the Bulgarian economy, investment opportunities in the country, as well as his government's efforts in macroeconomic stability.
