Bulgaria Picks Karina Karaivanova to Become Its New Representative to EBRD

Bulgaria's government said on Wednesday it nominated Karina Karaivanova, currently chair of the Financial Supervision Commission, to become the country's new representative to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Karaivanova will replace Bulgaria's current representative on the EBRD board of directors, Kalin Mitrev, on March 1, 2019, the government said in a statement following its weekly meeting.Karaivanova served as deputy minister of finance on two occasions - from December 2012 to February 2013, and from November 2014 until July 2016. At the end of July 2016,  she was elected as chair of the financial regulator with a six-year mandate.
