Sofia, October 13 (BTA) - In the new programming period Bulgaria participates in 12 programmes for transborder and regional cooperation with a total budget of over 1.2 billion euro, Regional Development and Public Works Minister Liliyana Pavlova said here Tuesday. She was speaking at a conference on European regional cooperation in Bulgaria.
Tuesday also saw the official start of programmes for the new programming period.
Pavlova said that the important thing for the government is to support the most underdeveloped regions in this country and the programmes for transborder cooperation help do this.
These programmes aim to improve infrastructure and intercultural exchange.
