Bulgaria Parliament to Adopt 2016 State Budget

Bulgarian parliament is expected to vote at second reading the final amendments to the draft bills on the 2016 National Health Insurance Fund Budget Act, the 2016 Public Social Insurance Budget Act, as well as the 2016 State Budget Act.
The draft bill on next year’s budget envisages a 2% growth and a 2% deficit. The major parameters of the budget envisage 129 million levs more for healthcare, while the minimum working salary will become 420 levs. The pensions, on the other hand, will be indexed with 2.5% as of July 1, 2016.
The ruling power kept its engagement to remove between first and second reading the texts that cut the social allowances of the police officers and the people employed in the security sector.
People employed in the field of culture – librarians, museum workers and others, will receive higher remuneration next year, too.
