Bulgaria marks 55% growth in export to EU

Bulgarian export towards EU Member States has grown by 55% for the period January-February 2011 in comparison to the same period in 2010, reaching 1.8 billion euro, the National Statistical Institute has announced.

Major trade partners of Bulgaria are Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, and Belgium.68% of the Bulgarian export to the EU goes to these countries, statistics show.

Import of EU goods to Bulgaria has grown by 28.4% for the same period. Ireland, Greece, and Slovakia marked the biggest rise in export to Bulgaria.

Bulgarian trade balance with the EU for January-February 2011 was positive and totaled 7.8 million euro. (Source: BNR)
