Bulgaria Joins Operational Budget of NATO’s NAEW&C Programme

Bulgarian outgoing cabined approved Bulgaria’s accession to the operational budget of the NATO Airborne Early Warning & Control (NAEW&C) Programme as of July 1, 2017, the press office of the Bulgarian Government announced.

The strategic scope of NATO requires the establishment of capabilities and strategic infrastructure needed for the implementation of the three major tasks of the Alliance – collective defence, crisis management, and cooperative security. 

Participation in the multinational programmes and initiatives within NATO is a symbol of solidarity and just distribution of the burden in the establishment and maintenance of collective capabilities.
