“As part of the Euro-Atlantic pact Bulgaria managed to strengthen its positions and to become a reliable partner of the Euro-Atlantic countries,” Chairman of Parliamentary Group of Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) Tsvetan Tsvetanov said for Radio FOCUS after his participation in the VI Transatlantic Conference in Washington. According to Tsvetanov it is extremely important that Bulgaria participates in NATO with the relevant commitments, as thereby ensuring both collective and its own security.
"Bulgaria is a part of all regional or European forums and organizations for fight against serious organized crime and to effectively counter such threats, organized crime, but also the threats of terrorism. That's why in recent years we managed jointly with Europol, with the countries of the European Union on a bilateral basis, but also with strategic partner the United States, to strengthen this cooperation and to counter possible threats in the region of a growing wave of immigration to our country and the conflicts that currently remain on the territory of Syria and the region as a whole," the MP from CEDB said.
