Bulgaria’s National Electric Company (NEK) invited bids for 5-million-euro ($6.4 million) rehabilitation and extension project of Vacha-1 hydro power plant (HPP), located in the southern Smolyan province, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
The scope of the project includes design, supply, installation and commissioning of equipment for 110 кV high voltage switchyard and other technological upgrades, EBRD added.
The project will be financed with a grant from the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), administered by the EBRD. KIDSF was established to cater for the decommissioning of four units of the Kozloduy nuclear power plant and to mitigate the negative consequences of their early closure.
The indicative value of the contract excludes value added tax.
