Bulgaria has the largest share of female software developers - 20.7 per cent from all software developers, compared with other European countries, where the share is 16 per cent on average. The share is expected to grow as 30 per cent from the graduate students in the subject are female, Deputy Labour and Social Policy Minister Rossitsa Dimitrova said Tuesday, speaking at an international conference on gender equality in the transport sector. The event is organized by the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions (CITUB) in Bulgaria. Women in the transport sector in the EU account for just 22 per cent, it emerged at the conference.
CITUB's Ekaterina Yordanova said that Bulgaria ranks fourth in Europe in terms of number of women in the government.
