Bulgaria Goes Up Eight Spots in World Bank's Doing Business Ranking

Bulgaria ranked 58th in the World Bank’s Doing Business ranking, up eight positions from a year earlier. 
The top performer in the ranking, which covers 189 economies, was Singapore.
In terms of starting business, Bulgaria ranked 65th in the international lender’s ranking. The country, however, occupies the 118th position in the “Dealing with Construction Permits” category.
Doing Business 2014 is the 11th in a series of annual reports covering regulations affecting 11 areas of the life of a business: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, resolving insolvency and employing workers.
