Bulgaria extends state of epidemic emergency until end-August

Bulgaria's government has decided to extend the state of epidemic emergency introduced over the coronavirus pandemic by one month until the end of August, the government press office said.  The extension of the state of epidemic emergency will allow for better enforcement of temporary measures to contain the spread of the virus, as the number of coronavirus cases registered on a daily basis has been growing considerably since June 9, the government press office said in a statement earlier this week. By Thursday, the number of confirmed cases in the country totaled 11,115, including 5,971 recoveries and 368 deaths associated with the disease.
