Bulgaria is extending until December 3 the bidding deadline in a tender procedure to grant a 35-year concession of the Gorna Oryahovitsa airport, the transport ministry said.
Tender papers can be obtained at 5,200 levs ($3,335/2,660 euro) by November 30, the ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
Eligible candidates should have registered capital of at least 1.0 million euro ($1.25 million); assets of no less than 5.0 million euro; and income from civil airport operations in at least one of the last 10 years amounting to or higher than 3.0 million euro, the statement added.
The concessionaire must also have at least one year of experience in managing and operating a civil airport with an annual passenger traffic exceeding 200,000 and a cargo volume of more than 10,000 tonnes per year.
Gorna Oryahovitsa is located in the Veliko Tarnovo region, in the country's north.
In March last year, the government launched concession tenders for the airports in Gorna Oryahovitsa and Plovdiv, the latter in southern Bulgaria. In June the deadline for both tenders was extended until September 15.
