First coordination meeting on the priorities of the EU presidencies of the troika Estonia, Bulgaria and Austria will be held in the middle of September. This has been agreed by the teams working on the preparation of the rotational presidencies of the Council of Europe in the three countries, Bulgaria’s website for the EU Presidency www.eu2018bg.bg and the press office of the cabinet of Deputy Prime Minister for European Policies Coordination and Institutional Affairs and Minister of Education and Science Meglena Kuneva announced.
The meeting was set after UK’s official refusal to take part in our troika and Council’s decision all presidencies by 2020 to be pulled back six months earlier.
Bulgaria has outlined four priorities – jobs, growth and competition; migration and security; efficient energy union and climate policies; the EU on the world scene.
Our country will put an accent on the development of the European digital market, the training of highly qualified staff in the field of information technologies, electronic trade.
Another accent will be the protection and safety of the European citizens.
