Bozhidar Lukarski, Bulgarian Minister of Economy, and Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov, President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), signed Thursday an agreement between the two institutions, FOCUS News Agency reported.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy Daniela Vezieva.
The Ministry of Economy and BAS are to undertake joint activities in the fields of economy, business environment, investments, SMEs, innovations and entrepreneurship, according to the text of the agreement.
According to Mr Vodenicharov, BAS wishes to help the government so that normal economic life of the country is recovered.
”Cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) will be expressed in many fields,” said Acad. Stefan Vodenicharov, speaking at the ceremony.
”We would like to provide aid in several spheres with the expertise of our Economic Research Institute. [We would like to] help with several laws the ministry is working on,” Mr Vodenicharov said further.
”We would like along with the ministry to do the things spoken about that are not done – there should be intelligent growth and innovations becoming a reality,” the scientist stated.
In his words, these things are connected with some legislative measures, which would make scientists in Bulgaria more efficient and would improve connections between researchers and business.
