Bulgaria Cuts Gas Prices by 2.73% in Q2

Bulgaria's State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (SEWRC) said it decided to reduce the wholesale price of natural gas in the second quarter of the year by 2.73%, as proposed by the country's gas monopoly Bulgargaz.

Natural gas in the second quarter of 2014 will cost 612.80 levs per 1000 cubic meters, VAT excluded, excise duty excluded, SEWRC said in a statement.

The energy regulator's initial proposal was for a 4.56% cut in the tariff, which it later revised in tune with Bulgargaz's request.

Bulgaria imports almost all the natural gas it needs from Russia through a pipeline crossing the territories of Ukraine, Moldova and Romania.
