Bulgaria and Croatia may play key role together in the regional energy cooperation. That is what President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rosen Plevneliev said during a joint press conference with President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, a reporter of FOCUS News Agency announced.
“We share a common position that development of the regional cooperation and improvement of the transport and energy connectivity must become of paramount importance for all countries in the region. Energy security could be only achieved through connectivity of electricity and gas transmission networks and of course, through a system of interconnectors,” the Bulgarian head of state noted.
In his words, each of the countries in the region should have access to alternative energy sources and therefore setting up the European Energy Union and the regional energy exchange market are a common priority.
“Bulgaria and Croatia can together play a key role in the regional energy cooperation. Both countries have leading position in the gas connectivity group of Central and South Eastern Europe, which was created in February 2015, and which second meeting was held namely in Croatia,” Rosen Plevneliev reminded.
