Bulgaria Cancels Procedure for Ruse-centre Port Terminal Concession

Bulgaria's caretaker government said it canceled a procedure to award a 35-year concession contract for the Ruse-centre port terminal as no bids were filed.

The concessionaire of the terminal, located on the Danube river, was required to invest over 766,000 levs ($510,000/392,000 euro) in the first six years of the contract's term and at least 1.65 million levs by the end of the term.

By awarding the concession contract, the government aimed to attract investments, increase the tourist traffic, improve the quality and safety of the offered services, and increase budget revenues.
