Bulgaria, Azerbaijan to Discuss Expansion of Trade, Economic Links Next Month

A session of the joint Azerbaijan-Bulgaria intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation is scheduled for next month in Baku, Trend news agency has reported citing a diplomatic source.
An exchange of views on strengthening cooperation between the two countries, as well as on the implementation of joint projects will be held during the session, Trend said.
Opportunities to expand trade and economic relations and prospects of cooperation in energy and transport are expected to be discussed at the session.
The diversification of sources and routes of Russian gas supplies to Bulgaria is vital, and in this aspect Azerbaijan can become an important partner to Bulgaria, the EU member country’s Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev has said.
"In turn, Bulgaria is ready to become a transit country for Azerbaijani gas supplies to Europe," Donchev said in an interview with Baku-based news agency last year.
