Bulgaria and Romania do not provide good control at their external borders, chairman of the French National Assembly's Committee for European Affairs, Pierre Lequiller has said.
The Schengen membership of the two countries, which was initially put off until March 2011 may be delayed. According to the French MP, Bulgaria and Romania are not victims of recent propositions for changes in the European policy.
We showed skepticism before as these countries do not provide good control at their external borders and that is why they will join Schengen in stages, Mr. Lequiller has said.
Airports will open first by the end of the year, while the next stage of opening the borders will take place probably in 2012. /Source: BNR/
