Bulgaria Analyzes Commitments Proposed to EC by Gazprom
Wednesday, 15 March 2017
The European Commission has sent invitations to all stakeholders asking them to present their positions regarding the commitments proposed by Gazprom in response to fears over natural gas market monopoly in Central and East Europe. The Bulgarian gas companies and the Ministry of Energy have already been analyzing Gazprom proposals including a lower gas price and a permission to resell natural gas to third countries. Sofia has seven weeks to form and declare a position regarding the measures proposed by the Russian side. The expectation is that voiced commitments will remove all doubts of the European Commission about violations made by Gazprom, the Bulgarian Ministry of Energy announced.
