Bulgaria allocates 7.2 mln euro for infrastructure projects in 10 municipalities

Bulgaria's government allocated some 14 million levs ($8.5 million/7.2 million euro) to ten municipalities for infrastructure reconstruction projects, it said.

The municipalities of Slivnitsa and Pernik received 3.6 million levs and 1.5 million levs of the total allocation, respectively, to be used to finance water infrastructure projects, the government said in a statement on Thursday following its weekly meeting.

The Slivnitsa municipality, located in the western part of the country, will use the financing for the reconstruction of part of the water supply network in the village of Aldomirovtsi. The municipality of Pernik, in western of Bulgaria, will be able to repair the water supply network and build water mains in the village of Dragitchevo.

The funding will also benefit road and street overhaul projects in the municipalities of Velingrad and Vratsa, which will receive 1.2 million levs and 1 million levs, respectively. The town of Etropole will use 1 million levs provided by the government for the reconstruction of four of its streets.
