Bulgaria utilised BGN 1.1 billion in financing allocated under various operational programmes of the European Union in 2010, Bulgaria's minister in charge of EU fund absorption, Tomislav Donchev, said on Wednesday in the Varna as quoted by local radio station.
The amount grows to BGN 2 billion when taking into account funding utilised under other programmes, while the rate of EU funds absorption stood at 11% in the past year, according to Donchev.
The municipality of Varna was as one of the regions boasting the highest level of absorption as it contracted BGN 171 million of EU financing and paid out BGN 61 million of the total.
Donchev also said he would propose the creation of a state fund, which will collect funds under various programmes earmarked for energy efficiency. /Source: Dnevnik/
