Public natural gas supplier Bulgargaz has proposed to Bulgaria's energy regulator to approve a cut of 14.3% in the wholesale gas price, to be valid for the month of February, the regulator said.
The proposed decrease will reduce the price to 114.31 levs ($67/58.4 euro) per MWh, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) said on Tuesday.
The wholesale price of natural gas applicable in January is 133.41 levs per MWh.
Bulgarian energy regulations require Bulgargaz to set the gas price monthly. The EWRC has the final say on the proposed changes in the wholesale price at which the state-owned company sells natural gas to end-suppliers and customers directly connected to its transmission network.
