Brussels Group Мeeting, EuroWorking Group Тeleconference Conclude
Friday, 29 May 2015
Talks between the Greek delegation and the representatives of the institutions at the Brussels Group, as well as the Eurogroup Working Group (EWG) teleconference concluded on Thursday afternoon, sources said.
According to EU sources, there has been limited progress so far which means a Eurogroup meeting is not imminent. Greek sources, however, said talks are moving forwards and will continue in the coming days in order to achieve a deal in principle. The Brussels Group will meet again on Friday.
Eurozone sources with knowledge of the negotiations admit the climate has been improved as well as the conditions of cooperation, but stressed that the work load taken on by the Greek side is huge and disproportionate to the time available until the expiration of the extension at the end of June.
The same sources said disagreements remain on fiscal issues, pensions, labour market, public administration and a series of other sectors. They also said that the full implementation of the February 20th agreement from all sides plays an important role in speeding up the process.
