Brazil's first women president who is of Bulgarian descent was welcomed by President Georgi Parvanov in the St. Alexander Nevski Square. Bulgaria and Brazil will exchange students. This was the first official news that followed the official exchange of the highest state awards between the presidents of Brazil and Bulgaria. During the signing of agreements in the fields of tourism, economy, education and diplomacy it became clear that Sofia and Brasil were interested in launching a series of students exchange programs. "The Bulgarians' intellectual potential is highly valued in Europe," Rousseff said. "I do believe that the Brazilian business will discover Bulgaria as a favorable destination for investments and, why not, as a ground for launching joint ventures in the fields of agriculture, processing industry, chemical industry and pharmacy," Bulgarian President Pravanov replied. During her meeting with Bulgarian PM Boyko Borissov, Mrs. Rousseff thanked him for the opportunity Bulgaria to become Brazil's gateway to the European market. Brazil needs Bulgarian engineers, especially in the field of aeronautics and space technologies. "My roots are in Bulgaria and I am grateful to PM Borissov for inviting me over during his visit to Brazil," Mrs. Rousseff said.
