Friday, 09 December 2016
Meeting with bank officials, the Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev has expounded the thesis that it is now the right moment for Bulgaria to confirm its commitment for financial integration with Europe, Capital reports. The banking sector believes that Bulgaria complies with the financial criteria for Eurozone accession however the invitation to enter the waiting room or the ERM II is a matter of a political decision by the countries which are already part of the exchange rate mechanism. Recently Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov made clear that Bulgaria would ask for admission to the mechanism once there is external political support for it, and explained he had declined to hold talks on the subject because of the government’s resignation.
