June was very good month for banks in Bulgaria, according to the data of BNB. In June, total bank loans increased by BGN 635, a long time record. The total amount of loans reached 64.886 billion levs.
The growth in June was due to the awakening of business. Apparently managers now look more optimistically into the future and start new projects. After an increase of allocated business loans in April with just 80 million levs and a 59 million levs decline in May, in June loans to companies increased by 298 million levs.
The total amount of loans to enterprises reached 49.961 billion levs.
June also saw a serious movement in household loans as well. In June, loans to citizens increased by 96 million levs, reaching a total of 18.174 billion levs.
Deposits in June recorded an increase. For just a month, citizens, businesses and financial companies deposited 767 million levs in the banks. Thereby, total deposits reached 64.886 billion levs.
