Belgium Backs Bulgaria’s Accession to Schengen: Belgium FoM

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium Didier Reynders arrived on a two-day visit to Bulgaria on September 7 – 8, at the invitation of the Bulgarian Minster of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov, the press centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. 
The official talks were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 8, Tuesday. 
The two ministers will discuss issues related with the bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and Belgium, topical EU initiatives such as the Juncker Plan, the Bank Union and the energy security, as well as topics related with the situation on the Western Balkans, Ukraine, Middle East and increasing migration flow.
“We back Bulgaria’s sooner accession to Schengen,” Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, Didier Reynders, said at a press conference after a meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart, Daniel Mitov.
