In December 2017, the base interest rate was 0.00%, the same as in December 2016 and November 2017, the Bulgarian National Bank said.
The yield to maturity of five-year lev-denominated government securities on the secondary market dropped by 0.12 percentage points from December 2016 to 0.08%.
In December compared with a year earlier, the average interest rate on deposits with agreed maturity decreased by 0.05 percentage points to 0.09% for those in leva, and by 0.21 percentage points to 0.05% for those in euro. Compared to November 2017, the average interest rate on lev-denominated deposits with agreed maturity decreased by 0.15 percentage points, and by 0.03 percentage points on those agreed in euro.
