ASE to Cooperate with SEE Link
Tuesday, 08 August 2017
The Athens Stock Exchange will cooperate with SEE Link (South East Europe Link) platform to execute cross-border transactions in Southeast European countries.
This cooperation will allow members of all stock exchanges participating in the SEE Link platform to perform transactions in the Athens Stock Exchange, while the platform's markets will be accessible through the X-Net network.
SEE Link began operations in May 2016 with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in an effort to forge cooperation between Southeast European markets. This initiative brought together the markets of Sofia, Zagreb, Belgrade, Banja Luka, Ljubljana and Skopje, with Sarajevo and Podgorica expected to join soon.
The Athens Stock Exchange is seeking to expand partnerships with the aim to attract liquidity, offering more options to its members and investors (domestic and international). The new services are expected to be available to investors in the first quarter of 2018.
