Amendments to Labour Code to Guarantee Better Protection of Bulgarian Workers Commissioned in EU

Bulgarian Government adopted amendments to the Labour Code, which provide better protection of the Bulgarian workers commissioned in the EU. The draft bill introduces European directives that settle the cases of commissioning and sending workers from one EU member state to another, in a country member of the European Economic Area or Switzerland, the press office of the Bulgarian Government announced.
The new tests set a requirement for the employers to provide the commissioned Bulgarian employees with at least the same minimum working conditions.
The draft bill also sets the opportunities for workers commissioned or sent to Bulgaria to file claims against their employer in the cases when they have been harmed because of non-observation of the minimum working conditions required under the Labour Code.
