All Bulgarian Stock Exchange - Sofia Indices Rise Substantially in 2016

SOFIX, the principal index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange - Sofia (BSE-Sofia), closed at 586.43 points in December 30, 2016, up nearly 26.27 points from December 30, 2015. This, as well as the other indices of the Exchange, started to climb appreciably in the second half of the year. In July, SOFIX fluctuated at around 450 points.
SOFIX covers 15 share issues complying with specific requirements and having the highest market value of the free float.
BGBX 40, an index covering 40 common share issues with the largest number of transactions and the highest median value of the daily turnover during the last six months, gained 19.79 per cent over the year.
The BG REIT index advanced nearly 12 per cent for the full year 2016. BG REIT covers seven issues of common shares of special investment purpose companies securitizing real property and/or land, i.e. real estate investment trusts (REITs),
with the highest market value of the free float and the highest median value of the weekly turnover during the last six months.
