The company operating the Sofia underground, Metropoliten EAD, and the Czech company Metroprojekt Praha signed Thursday an agreement for preparation of an investment project for a new stretch of the Sofia underground, the Sofia Town Hall said.
The agreement follows up on an open procedure for award of a public procurement contract. The future metro stretch will have a total length of 21 km with 23 stations along the route.
The agreement with the Czech company is worth 3.3 million leva which will come from the European Fund for Regional Development through Operational Programme Transport.The agreement will be implemented over a period of 30 months. It includes preparation of route options and a detailed plan of the chosen route, preparation of documents for an environmental impact assessment, a financial analysis and a tender dossier.
