Accession of Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia to the Schengen area

The European Commission reiterated its call on the Council of the European Union to decide on the accession of Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia to the Schengen area. The Commission considers that the three countries meet the necessary criteria. This is stated in the annual report on the functioning of the Schengen area adopted today by the European Commission.
