Today's sitting of the National Assembly ended with a scandal. After its completion, the deputies stayed for a long time arguing about whether there was a quorum and whether they adopted at first reading the amendments to the National Guard Service Act.
The bills for amendments to the National Guard Service Act of the Parliamentary Speaker Iva Miteva and of "Stand up.BG! We are coming!" provided for a significant reduction in the number of persons using security guards and specialized transport. According to the changes, the service should guard only the President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of the National Assembly. The chief prosecutor, the presidential administration, members of the Council of Ministers and the mayor of Sofia, as well as former prime ministers and presidents, remain outside the circle of protected persons.
