10,000 Companies in Bulgaria Work in IT Sector
There are about 10,000 companies, most of them small and medium ones, working in the IT sector of Bulgaria. "This country has been establishing itself as a center of development in Europe and has been gaining popularity internationally," the director of the Executive Agency for Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Marietta Zaharieva said. She expressed hope that the development of the IT sector in this country would lead to the rise of other sectors of the Bulgarian economy. She also pointed out that the IT sector in Bulgaria was no longer driven only by foreign companies, as local companies are starting to reach maturity and to strive for regional leadership. There is interest from companies to invest in services like cloud technologies, development of custom software and creating separate units for IT outsourcing.
