PM Mitsotakis: Our duty is to make the country unrecognisable in comparison with the negative past
27 01 2020"Eleftherios Venizelos proved that a small country, even in difficult times, can form its future if it remains loyal to the justified historical principles which are: The strong alliances abroad with growth inside and individual freedom with social welfare" stated Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in an article to the Sunday edition of Kathimerini newspaper.
The prime minister underlined that "Venizelos' faith in liberalism and realism brought the country's highest international success, the Greece of two continents and of five seas. This is the proof of the stature a smaller force can have on the international stage when it reads correctly the balances, has a long term plan, is determined and has a responsible leadership".
Finally, Mitsotakis referring to Venizelos' huge achievements he said that "the heaviest legacy is our duty to make the country unrecognisable in comparison with the negative past. A duty we assumed and will justify".
Eleftherios Venizelos was a Greek statesman and a prominent leader of the Greek national liberation movement.
