20 11 2018Bansko, 19 November 2018 – Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko won the prestigious award for Bulgaria’s Best Ski Hotel at the World Ski Awards 2018. The glamorous ceremony was held on Saturday, 17 November as per tradition at the A-Rosa hotel at the famous Austrian ski resort, Kitzbühel. The long-awaited evening honouring the international ski industry gathered top executives and market leaders from Europe, Asia, Australia, North America and South America. The official event was part of a three-day programme of interesting leisure activities, specially prepared for the participants. Among the invited VIP guests on the red carpet was General Manager Natalia Kashirskaya, who had the pleasure of personally accepting the honourary statuette on behalf of the hotel.
“It is a great honour for me to be part of this magnificent event and to accept the prize for Bulgaria’s Best Ski Hotel,” commented Ms Kashirskaya. “I would like to thank everyone who has voted for us for their recognition and the whole team, of course, for their dedication and excellent results. This year we are happy that besides Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko, the resort Bansko was awarded as well for the sixth consecutive year as Bulgaria’s Best Ski Resort. I believe that these international awards further contribute to the positioning of the hotel as a leader in the luxury skiing experience and the resort as a leading ski destination offering perfect value for money.”
Along with this achievement, Bansko is becoming more and more popular on a global scale. Renowned as the winter capital of the Balkans, it has already hosted five rounds of the World Ski Cup and two rounds of the World Snowboard Cup in 2017 and 2018. From 22 to 24 February 2019 Bansko and Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko will again welcome the world’s ski elite for the upcoming FIS Men’s Ski World Cup, which attracts enormous interest and is expected to increase the exposure of the resort.
